PSCC Announces An Affiliation
With Swedish Cancer Institute
We are pleased to announce an expanded collaboration between Puget Sound Cancer Centers (PSCC) and Swedish Health Services, specifically the Swedish Cancer Institute (SCI). Together, we are excited to pursue mutual goals through a strengthened affiliation in order to improve the quality of health care in the communities we serve.
SCI and PSCC are both local, community cancer care organizations with a shared mission to deliver high quality and personalized care. Over more than 20 years, SCI and PSCC have coordinated the delivery of medical and radiation oncology services for patients in our North Seattle and Edmonds facilities.
Together, we strive to provide our patients improved access to care close to home, facilitate access to highly specialized expertise and technology, provide improved coordination of care to our patients in North King and South Snohomish counties, increase awareness of early detection and cancer prevention, increase knowledge of and local access to clinical trials, and continuously improve quality of cancer services through best practices throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Swedish is the largest, most comprehensive non-profit health provider in the Greater Seattle area, and this affiliation furthers Swedish's mission and goal to bring health care closer to home in the communities we serve.
PSCC is one of the largest single-specialty medical oncology and hematology practices in the State of Washington and practices in two locations, our Seattle cancer center and our Edmonds cancer center. PSCC will remain as a freestanding entity and continue to work with US Oncology for Oncology Pharmacy Services (OPS), use of their proprietary EMR system, iKnowMed, maintain access to valuable clinical trials through its nation-wide research platform, and work with other partners to provide advanced, community oncology services. As part of this transition, PSCC has contracted locally with Swedish for practice support services such as our Information Technology infrastructure.
