PSCC receives certification
for highest standard of care

PSCC has received certification by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®), for meeting the highest quality standards of care. QOPI, an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), is a voluntary, self-assessment and improvement program designed to help hematology-medical oncology practices assess the quality of care they provide to their patients.

PSCC is the only cancer center in Western Washington to receive this certification, one of only three in the State and one out of 91 practices across the country. In fact, PSCC was one of the first practices to become a QOPI participant in 2006, when the program was launched.

QOPI analyzes individual practice data and compares these to more than 100 quality measures. The information is then provided in reports to participating practices. Individual practices are also able to compare their performance to data from other practices across the country. Based on this feedback, doctors and practices can identify areas for improvement.

Participation in QOPI reflects a commitment to quality of care that leads to fundamental changes in the clinical practice of oncology. Oncology practices that commit to quality and safety programs, such as this, are recognized as those that provide the most optimal cancer care.
